Common questions

Is Pass the License really free?

Yes. Every practice test and study page is free with no account or sign-up. The site is supported by ads.

What score do I need to pass the insurance exam?

Most states require about 70 percent to pass the producer exams. Aim for 80 percent or better on practice tests before you schedule the real exam.

Does the practice exam include my state's laws?

State law questions are available for 7 states so far, and more are being added. Pick your state and your practice exam will mix in state law questions at about the same share as the real test.

How many questions are on the life and health exam?

It depends on your state and testing provider. Combined life and health exams often have 100 to 150 scored questions. Check your state's candidate handbook for the exact count and time limit.

Are these the actual exam questions?

No. These are original practice questions written to match the concepts on the exam. Real exam questions are confidential, so be wary of anyone claiming to sell them.
